So I've added some ads to Triangle Dude and to the blog. Maybe you'll notice them, maybe you won't!

I've always had my own Shop Vorgus Ads on the Triangle Dude website at the bottom, but that doesn't usually do me any good unless someone actually buys some merchandise. There was a brief time when I had Google Adsense ads on the website, but, though I love Google, their ads program is terribly corrupt and easy to get kicked out of. There are tons of complaints about them on the interwebs and eventually I was kicked out too. Ever since I've just had my Shop Vorgus Ads.

I've wanted some form of ads for a while, not to make a bunch of money, but to at least offset the cost of hosting the Triangle Dude Website every month. Heck, it would be great if it could even support itself! :D Maybe one day. Anyway, I've chosen to use bidvertiser ads and tried to add them somewhere on the page that wouldn't be too distracting. If these ads don't work out I might try Project Wonderful ads. And if that doesn't work then I'll probably just dump the ads all together okay!

I will always prefer the site without ads, but if they help support Triangle Dude then so be it.

Finally, it is done. This one took a little while, but I'm happy with it's epicness. Triangle Dude pirates often find misfortune in my comics. I'm not sure why that is - I'll have to think about it for a moment.

Oh ya, it's because misfortune is funny and so are pirates! Together they are the perfect thing to laugh at. Well I wasn't done with one particular group of pirates. Yes, I saved their lives, but only to throw them back into danger, MWAHAHAHA.

The comic is now up and can be downloaded for gracing the face of your computer desktop.

Also, because this picture is big and epic it is now available on Shop Vorgus as a poster, iPad Protector, and a mouse pad. Cool stuff.

House Boating!

Holidays is over! Went House Boating with the family on Shuswap Lake.

It was a blast! Swam lots, finished two books, drew a bit, ate foods, played games, and soaked up the sun! I narrowly escaped a sunburn - and I did get over a hundred bites all over ma body. Arms, legs, neck, hands, feet, body, and back... SO ITCHY. It's finally subsiding though... rotten mosquitoes and sand flea watcha-ma-callits.

There was something else I wanted to do, but it didn't feel quite as epic... then after thinking for a bit I decided I might as well revisit the crew of the S.S. Gets Attacked By Octopus.

In the near future I should hopefully get a new picture out tied to that same crew :D

Time Travel

Currently there is Time Travel storyline going on at Triangle Dude's website! It's a 4-parter with crazy time travel shenanigans.

Time travel and time in general has always been a fascinating thing for me. What is time exactly anyway? A measurement of moments between two distinct moments such as a beginning and an end... something like that!

The idea that one could travel between said moments in a non-linear fashion is intriguing, complicated, and paradoxically confusing. It's all good fun though :D

Astronaut Design

I have a new design in the shop? Wow. It's been ages since I've done much art besides Triangle Dude drawing stuffs. I suppose I've been in the mood. I did a little doodley of an astronaut a week or two ago and liked the idea and way it looked. I decided I'd make a go at it and make it look more polished.

I'm happy with the result :) Skeletons are always cool to look at. I like to think there's some sort of crazy radiation or super light out there in space that's acting like an xray on the space explorer... exposing his inner workings. Anywho, here's a link! Astronaut Design.

It's been a while since I've posted anything about Triangle Dude - but that's alright. He understands. I'm a busy guy - and so is he. He's been up to plenty of shenanigans lately.

I'm proud to say I haven't skipped any days this year so far. I've gotten a comic out every day I was supposed to! Also, it's amazing, but Triangle Dude is closing in on comic #300. The big Three O O. Oh boy.

Triangle Dude has enjoyed about 170,000 visitors with about 430,000 page views from 147 different countries. United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and Ireland being the big 5 countries to check out Triangle Dude.

Readership is alright, it was never huge, but I think it's finally recovered after my long hiatus :D

Aren't statistics fun? I think so. Thank you Google Analytics.

Digital Chamber

Hey! I was recently asked to do some artwork for a digital album cover. The music in the album is based off video games! Rpg's to be more precise. Video game music is the bomb. Someone set us up the bomb.

The album is called Digital Chamber and it's available on Bandcamp. The awesome music is by none other than Curtis Zondag. He's done a really good job of creating this music - it sounds like it would be right at home in some epic RPG.

Here's a blurb about the album:

MS Paint Adventures

Today, I have come to tell you about probably one of the most amazing "web comics" I have ever had the pleasure to read. MS Paint Adventures is amazing! I am currently reading "Homestuck" which is the current story in progress.

The comics are based on old school text based adventure games. The "Player," AKA the reader is typing in commands to progress the story and the characters. This is not to say you can actually control the characters or the story - it's just been set up to look that way. Instead of a typical "Next" button to continue to the next page the reader clicks a command which relates to what is currently happening. This was a totally original and creative thing to me and it works very well.

The comic pages usually comprise of an image and some text below it for the reader to read. There is more however, as many pages are also animated gifs and some are even full flash animations with sound. It's quite the experience to read through.

The humour is great and the story is even better. Homestuck's storyline involves numerous characters, time travel, video games, and all sorts of crazy happenings and shenanigans. I haven't finished Homestuck yet, (the comic is still a work in progress at the moment) I'm on about page 2000... and there's still a bit for me to get through before I'm all caught up.

Also, there's some excellent music made by all sorts of people to go along with Homestuck.

Epic Warhammer Clobbering

Been a while since I posted pictures from a Warhammer battle (to be honest I've just forgotten to bring my camera to any other games). So I finally remebered to bring that camera thingamabob and snapped these pics.

It's a 3000 point game, me and a friend using Chaos and Vampire Count versus my friend's High Elves. As you can see there is a rather large unit on the other side of the table... that would be a 80 squad of High Elf Spearmen! Biggest unit I've ever seen. It's hard to believe that's the whole 3000 point army over there :P but it is.

So later on the Spearmen finally engaged my Grave Guard and were unable to punch through thanks to some Helm of Commandment Magic and the units toughness and armor. Some Chaos chewed through some High Elf Swordmasters and swung in to engage the flank, and some Trolls came in on the other flank... Things don't look good for the High Elves, but it gets worse!

My Vampire Lord uses "The Withering" reducing the High Elf Spearmen's toughness to a measly "1" and the Chaos Caster manages to get off "Static seizures" causing a toughness test on the High Elves... needless to say a toughness test where "1" is your only save is... catastrophic! About 60 died, brutal!

Drafting Class

Here's one of my final projects for one of this semester's drafting classes. Basically it was a "paste-up day" where everyone puts together stuff for a final display. This is mine!

I decided to try something a little different and made a three dimensional floor plan for my house as well as put together some snazzy renders. It took a lot of work to make these floor plans, but I'm real happy about 'em - they even have itsy, tiny windows!

I've recently been obsessed with watching some anime. It's great - what can I say. I recently finished watching Gundam Wing Double Zero (or something along those lines, honestly there's like a bazillion different Gundam shows!) and also Inuyasha!

Both great! Inuyasha has close to 200 episodes! It's nuts, I don't wanna do the math and think about how much time I spent watching them all over a period of three weeks.

Tdcomics is going swimmingly! I love saying that word. Swimmingly. I wish I could use it in 60% of my sentences.

So far I've showed no signs of slowing down - still at 2 comics a week. Not bad! Considering how many other projects I got on the go. Oh, plus a video game. What's that? A Triangle Dude video game you ask? Well most certainly perhaps. Only time will tell :D

Mario Candy!

My friend got these for me (along with Pokemon Black, yeee!) and they are sweet. Quite literally. Inside these awesome looking tins was candy! I have already consumed all candy, and it was delicious. The mushroom had these little cherry mushrooms in it, and the question box had coins! COINS! (Candy coins)

Minecraft Server!

Okay, yes, another Minecraft post. I promise this will be the last for a while! Finally got an isometrically rendered version of the server I play on - it's a friend of a friend's server. Those who are interested the server is: game.zeenixcraft.net

When you first login you'll only be a guest and will only be able to look around. Make an account on the forum if you want actually build stuff etc. This is to deter griefers mostly.

The map is pretty huge, but the whole thing hasn't even been explored yet, we're still a long way off. There's about 6-8 more regular players at the moment, about 12-15 in all.

You can see Cascadia in the map! It's dwarfs every other thing on the server and is visible from space! (space being zoomed way way out)

Cascadia is complete. This thing took forever. Well, it seemed like it. Over three weeks to be more accurate. Not full time of course, I still manage to kind of have a life... (who am I kidding lol).

I built this multiple disc city landscape for people to build houses on. It contains over 112,000 pieces of dirt and over 35,000 pieces of glass. It's all collected and manufactured too. It's on a friend of a friend's server.

Not sure if anyone will recall me posting about Muramasa: The Demon Blade, so if you don't then that's okay. This new figure coming out sometime in the Summer is just stunning though. I've never really ever thought about figures, let alone buying one, but this one just can't be passed by.

For those who remember the Wii game you'll immediately think of how beautiful the side-scrolling action and gameplay was. This figure perfectly captures one of the main characters looks. It's Momohime!

More... Minecraft

Yes, more, and forget about single player - servers be where it's at! It's great playing with other people. Anywho, just a short look at what the heck I've spent the last few weeks building... it's a monstrosity that's for sure.

Basically, it is 4 giant discs, getting larger as they go up. The centers of which are glass and the edges are dirt. Waterfalls will pour off from every edge - earning this city landscape the name of "Cascadia."

It's so large... you could see it from space!

It is not properly lit up yet and so the discs above cast this giant shadow below. Mobs spawn in shadows just so's ya knows - it's currently a dangerous place!

I'm on the very top level now, construction is nearing completion :D

Just to get an idea of how large this is: the largest disc measures 200 blocks in diameter, the smallest is 100. Overall the structure will use approx. 112,000 pieces of dirt and over 30,000 pieces of glass. Ya, sick.

Minecraft! Oh boy! Has it ever taken off. I remember months ago when my little brother started playing - I remember watching him play this game and thinking, wow, if I ever played this game it very well could suck a lot of time out of my life. And so... I waited to get it, and waited a little more, and a little more. Now it's even bigger than before and I couldn't wait anymore! The time to lose my free time is now.

I finally got Minecraft :D and I love every bit of it. It's exploring, crafting, and building mechanics are simple, and addictive. It's like lego on steroids.. which you can then run around in. Plus, fighting zombies, exploring dangerous caves for rare materials, what more could there be!? But there's much more, and it's only in Beta! Picking up your copy now can save you some money, you'll get to play right away, and will get the full game when it comes out! OH, did I mention multiplayer?! :)

It doesn't really have instructions, but it's pretty easy to pick up once you get into it. Just read the controls, and if you're really stuck there's a super helpful Minecraft Wiki!

Using Cartographer you can make a maps and full renders of your Minecraft world... so here's mine! :D

A couple of the things I took a screenshot of were built after i took the map render, but just click to get a bigger look!

Back on Track

Alright! So "The Creator" plot ended last week and we're back on track with the random goodness that is Triangle Dude. So far so good. :)

It'll probably be a while before anymore major plot lines so enjoy the stand-alone comics like the new and newer, "Those Dogs," and "Big Head."

Circular Cannibalism

I've had a sketch of this for a month or two now and I've finally had time to get around and do it! I call it, "Circular Cannibalism," though, I'm not really sure if they actually are trying to eat each other or are rather just escaping from the other's mouth. A bit of both perhaps.

Xmas Videogames!

Xmas 2010 was pretty great! I got some vidja games! Now I need to find the time to play them all!

I got Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii. The original ones on the SNES were amazing and a big part of my childhood so playing this game was a must. I must say Retro did a great job on the game - it doesn't disappoint in the slightest! A lot of it really takes me back, but they've also done a great job making it look good and introducing some new ideas and mechanics - it's definitely worth a look.

Donkey Kong Country Returns

I also got Kirby's Epic Yarn! I haven't had too much time to play this one yet, but the intro was pretty funny and fun and light and you know, good ole' Kirby. The graphics are interesting and look pretty darn good for yarn! I've only just begun so I can't attest to it's gameplay, but it seems like it'll shape up to be pretty fun!

On the DS side of things I got Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis. I've never played the first one, but have always wondered what the game is like. I've heard it's pretty good and it looks like a game I like because of it's puzzlin' nature. I definitely wasn't expecting this game, but I'm really looking forward to playing it!

Plants vs. Zombies! I love this game, and the edition I got came with a little zombie figurine! I promptly constructed the cardboard pylon and placed it atop it's head. I'm looking forward to starting this up again, I loved it, but the Steam version I had destroyed my save file, which, honestly, isn't the first game (poor GTA IV save data... I just wanna shoot stuff and drive around!).

So It's been a while yes. Hello everyone. What's been up? Stuff.

Particularly fun stuff! I got to go snow tubing for the first time a couple of days ago and was it ever a blast. We went up to Mount Seymour in North Vancouver. I've never been up to that mountain before and all I can say is that the view was magnificent. You can see so far! It's incredible.

Once you get done admiring the view you can start snow tubing! The hill is huge and you get some amazing speed going down the thing. There are "slow" signs telling when you should start dragging your feet to slow down before the end... and if you don't... well you might just fly off the ramp at the end and who knows where that goes. A couple people did go off the edge a few times, I'm sure they're fine lol

Time is Flyin'

FINALLY. I have finally managed to get my new portfolio site up! DavidMGray.com is live peoples! Which is not only an exciting relief to me, but means the new Triangle Dude Comics website is next on the list of things to be doing and getting done.

Unfortunately, and there's always an unfortunately isn't there? I'm also in my last month and a half of this semester... so... while I may have gotten one website done in the first half of the semester, there's definitely no time to work on Triangle Dudes during the second half. I got homework comin' out the WAZOOH! Where ever that is... So when can we expect to see the new TD Website? I'd say sometime after christmas, in the new year, after this semester is done and done.

What's new?

So it's been like a month and a bit and there's new stuff, but not too much new stuff to talk about. Mainly, I had a two week break where I worked half the time but still managed to get some stuff I wanted to do done.

I beat Mario Galaxy finally, then proceeded to beat the second one as well. There were a lot of new cool ideas in the second one, just as good if not better than the first one. Also, I finally beat Zack and Wiki - second last level is the hardest puzzle ever (thank you YouTube for your walkthroughs). Now I'm working on Final Fantasy Tactics, ya, a GBA game! I beat the story, but of course I gotta get that last special character.

I got a list and I'm goin' through 'it, I have video games clogged up in the waiting list, a couple have barely been touched. They shall be beaten before buying new ones! Oh, and Plants Vs. Zombies is great, I beat the story, then a Steam bug wiped my save file from the face of the internets... GREAT GAME THOUGH!

Finally, school's started and I'm gonna be doing some cool modeling stuff in class. Perhaps I shall post about it? Yes? We'll see how much time I got.

And finally finally is a new website I'm working on! It's basically a single "ME" page, providing links to everything I'm involved with as well as being a place for potential employees to check my portfolio and view my resume. Check it out below. The pictures cycle through a selection and that logo in the top left spins... just like real gears do!

So the nice thing about redesigning this site is that I'll be using the basic style and architecture to make an updated Triangle Dude Comics website! New features will include having the most recent comic displayed on the front page, no more clicking extra buttons to see what you all want to see. And ya ya, I'll get on the new comics... not for a while though. School's eatin' time again.

Yesterday was my birthday! Woo! :D That is pretty kool. So what did I do? I had to work! bleh. But I got to see some family and spend time with friends so that's what counts!

I played some "Settlers of Catan," which is this wicked fun board game. I got Super Mario Galaxy 2, Dragon Quest IX, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Venture Bros. Season 3, and some Fantasy Warhammer! AWESOME.

Also, my brother made me a super kool wicked rad card... TRIANGLE DUDE INSPIRED!

Hahaha, so good. Those things in panel 5 are from Silent Hill for those who are wondering what the heck is goin' on.

Tau Dreadnought Update

So after some helpful critique and input I've changed it up a bit and I think it looks much better now! Arms got a little shorter, and most notably the chest actually looks decent now lol.

That is all...

Now the 3D printer just needs to be finished set up... come on!

Tau XVX Crisis Dreadnought-Suit

SO. My school's getting a 3D printer! It's currently being put together and I'm hoping that I'm going to print out my new creation... the Tau XVX Crisis Dreadnought-Suit. Yes. It's a Tau Dreadnought. That's the basic concept.

Now the printer we're getting isn't as high tech as those $30,000 dollar ones, it's called Makerbot. As a result there are certain limitations when it came to my Tau Dreadnought design if I ever hope to print it out. The printer isn't super high-res, and it can only print vertical angles of 45 degrees. As a result I'm going to have to print this out in multiple pieces, which is okay, but I also had to make sure certain angles on the suit were at 45 degrees. I'm happy with the way it turned out though! :D

Tau XVX Crisis Dreadnought-Suit

Once a veteran has proven themselves in a Broadside Battlesuit they may have the opportunity to wear the newly created XVX Crisis Dreadnought-Suit. While most suits in Tau development departments are becoming increasingly agile the Tau have not turned a blind eye to the much less mobile, yet heavily armed, XV88 Broadside Battlesuit systems.

Now, it seems two very different design philosophies are developing within the Tau R&D departments. The newly created XVX Suit has travelled down the less mobile design path. The past wars have seen great success with Railguns against heavily armored targets, and Infantry firepower has always had a dominant weapon on the battlefield. However, Tau have never had an answer to the heavily armored units which are left unscathed by Infantry firepower whilst simply being too innefficient for heavy weapons to pay attention to them. The XVX Crisis Dreadnought-Suit is the answer to this nagging problem within the Tau army.

Ever hear of Scott Pilgrim? Well you're about to so sit down and pay attention. Scott Pilgrim is this awesome guy who fights evil dudes and gains experience in life... there's more to it than that, but all you really need to know is that it's great. Great fun to read and look at and drool over.

I had bought the first book after hearing about it through surfing the netz and thoroughly enjoyed it - I planned to slowly buy the rest of them and read 'em. THEN, I learned that it was being made into a MOVIE! Also a video game. Soo I jumped on that Amazon Site and splurged (well okay, they're not that expensive) and got the rest of the books. The last one is ordered but isn't released yet, July 20th.

So why did I go crazy and get 'em then and there? BECAUSE, because, because not only was the first one great, but the movie is coming out this summer! August 13th people. I read through 'em lightning fast and can't wait for the movie - also... it's sparked me into maybe revisiting... a TRIANGLE DUDE graphic novel I started a long while back...

SO! The release date for Pokemon Black and White has been revealed! WOO! September 18th, holy smokes, I can't believe how soon that is! Bulbapedia 'twas where I heard it from, also, here's a link to some Footage. Also! Triple's battles! WOAH!

Another important thing to mention is that Jirachi is now available as one of those Mystery Gift things you can get via Nintendo wifi download. Jirachi is available in gen. 4 pokemon games in North America and Australia until July 16th!

Unfortunately my wireless router isn't compatible with my old school original first version Nintendo DS... and the Nintendo wifi USB connector Nintendo used to sell is no longer made or supported and isn't compatible on my Windows 7 64-bit system... might have to try installing it on a different computer... I can't miss it!

Battlefield Book

Another part of Tactics David? You betcha. I think I already mentioned I had been making Battlefields for it - well just one. That's enough for now, but if I want to make more the resources, systems, and pipelines are all in place for me to whip 'em out.

Battlefields and 3D

So right now I'm in the process of making some 3D assets for use in some sort of Battlefield Book for my Tactics David game. Basically, it's just going to be some pre-made scenarios and map layouts... but in 3D! So it'll look hyper rad.

Starcraft 2

Anyone else excited for Starcraft 2? Well when I went on Youtube a couple days ago, on the front page, was a commentated Starcraft 2 match. Ya, it was in english - no jibber jabber my brain doesn't know - so I was instantly hooked. Now I'm quite excited and can't wait to start building my own bases and destroying my own enemies.

For now I'll be content watching the videos every once a while. I found HDstarcraft's Channel a pretty easy and enjoyable commentator to follow along with.

It really does get exciting - and these Starcraft players kick so much butt...

Anywho, I'm putting up Version 3.1 now which has a fair deal of changes and updates. The most noticeable change is the addition of pictures and visual elements to the Rule Book.

The internet likes to be random. It can't really ever be predicted. From the random people on the internet to the random failure of my router and service from Shaw - you can never be sure of what you're going to stumble upon.

Randomly generated ads and security captcha codes are pretty cool - and sometimes if I pay attention I'll catch something... different.

Of course there's always Facebook's random ads of crazy not english text 'cept for a couple words.

If you've checked the site at all then you already know about the hiatus. The High-what-is? Yes the Hiatus, some fancy word for: No more comics... at least for now. Too much stuff to do, and making Triangle Dude while feeling exhausted not only feels like lots of work, but is just hard to do! I can't think of funny stuff when all my brain feels like doing is flippin' over in my skull and pulling over a blankie!

Alas, there was one more comic I had drawn... which looked like junk but was still something... Unfortunately it was on my computer desktop when my hard drive kicked the bucket.

I'll probably be collecting a bunch of ideas while on hiatus, but it'll be a while before I put a virtual pen to a virtual pad again.

Does anyone remember my first post about Tactics David? Well, guess what... over 3 months later I'm finally done the next iteration. Version 3.0, new and improved. Check out the book here, Tactics David 2010 V3.0. It's 65 pages of awesome, at least I think so.

Included is the 25 page rule book and the 40 page unit and item book.
So far there's 202 Units, and I've got more ideas... why must have I so many?

This book is pretty... "plain" at the moment though, no fancy artsy pizazz or pictures. Also, even though the book is done, the playing pieces are not. But the foundation work is finally all laid out. Time to... take... a break...

TCG: Trading Card Games. They're addictive. If you have friends willing to play them with you... they become more addictive.

So what kind of Trading Card Games am I talking about? How about some Yugioh. Want some more? Here's some Chaotic. Had enough? I thought not... Pokemon ought to do it. Nope? Magic The Gathering. There. Is that enough? Well, that's good for now.

I currently have cards for all of these and really only know how to play one of them well. Hopefully, if all goes well, I shall learn them all!

Is this a new level of nerdiness? Perhaps, but I'll argue that it is merely another plane of nerdiness on the same level I was at before. Also, how else can I make a kicking awesome Triangle Dude Card Game or any other sweet game if I don't do a little... research... first.

Winamp Scrobbling God

I've always had Winamp installed on my computer, but I've never used it all that much. I've mainly used Windows Media Player to play my music and watch my videos, then, because I have to, I use ITunes to get my music onto my Ipod Nano.

Winamp was only ever there because with a couple snazzy plugins I could play certain video game music files - Super Nintendo, GBA, DS, NES, you name it, I'm pretty sure there's a plugin for it. Check out Zophar's Domain for the necessary plugins and some sweet download-able music from video games!

*On a Side Note* Winamp also has the capability of taking those video game music files (.spc, .gsf, .usf, etc.) and outputting them into a .wav file. Then, using a simple .wav to .mp3 audio converter I can put convert them and listen to them on my Ipod :D

*Back on Track*
So, okay, I finally had it with ITunes. It doesn't have any sort of built in Library updating thing. Any new tracks have to be manually added to it. That's a pain. There's some utilities out there, but ITunes just doesn't do it... Secondly, ITunes wouldn't play some of my .mp3's that played absolutely fine in Windows Media Player. Well that's the last straw...

A quick google search later and I discover that Winamp has Ipod managing capabilities. YES! Goodbye Itunes. Winamp has it built in, but using the plugins ml_ipod and audioscrobbler it can even scrobble my tracks to Last.fm. :D Very happy.

Winamp also plays .flac files, unlike Windows Media Player, and it can even dock itself into the system icon tray, leaving me some extra space on the taskbar.

Now, Winamp isn't perfect, but it's pretty dang close. It doesn't list the total file size of a Playlist so I'm not sure if it will fit on my Ipod Nano, not as big a deal for people with large Ipods. Then, when using ml_ipod and audioscrobbler plugins the currently playing song isn't listed in the Last.fm client, but I can live with that.

Also, because I'm not going to spend money to buy Winamp Pro Version I can't Rip CD's to .mp3 format... I'll still have to use Windows Media Player for that. Ah well.

Pokemon Black and Pokemon White

Pokemon Black and White have been confirmed and I believe the Japanese release date is around October, not sure how close the North American release date will be, but it's never too early to start... TRAINING! Training to become the Pokemon master.

First of all, Triangle Dude and Dr. Wurm are all up on some mountain shaped like a gorilla fighting off some giant spiders or something, I don't know. But secondly! So a new comic is called Swimming and another one is called Newspaper Bandit. More importantly though is this video you must check out titled Triangle Dude - Swimming - Speed Draw.

It is a video made by me! It includes a very speedily drawn comic, complete with outlining, coloring, shading, and background makingness. The video has a few artifacts as I quickly pan around which I'm not sure how to get rid of after speeding the video up - I am not quite an adobe premiere master, but I will try again... later... ish.

Concerts!

I went to some concerts the past couple weeks. They were part of the free stuff going on because of the Olympics in Vancouver. Down at Holland Park in Surrey I got to see, Hot Hot Heat, Hey Ocean!, Said the Whale, Mother Mother, Hey Rosetta, You Say Party We Say Die, Tokyo Police Club, and Wintersleep. I even got to meet Tokyo Police Club so that was super neato!

So I wouldn't say I have tons of Concert experience, but as it slowly builds I believe I can be accurate enough to say something about them which I have described in this handy little graph!

Yes, the closer to the front the more you shall encounter people who completely knock others out of the way - you know, people who just don't really care about other people. BUT, that is all part of the Concert experience and I won't really complain about them anymore. Instead I will complain about the number of taller people who push through the crowd just enough to stop right in front of me... :P

Gorillaz Plastic Beach

Gorillaz new album is on the way! I'm excited yes I am. It's called Plastic Beach and you can totally go listen to it... RIGHT HERE! For free yes. Yes.

I love their music, and also their art style. When I saw art for Tank Girl I was instantly reminded of the Gorillaz, and vice versa... well, what I didn't know until reading the article in the above link is that the same Artist works on both things! DOH! That makes sense! It's Jamie Hewlett, very awesome. I recently picked up a Tank Girl book with a bunch of artwork in it and I can't wait to go drool all over it.

Something also cool is the fact that Sunset Rubdown helped inspire Johnny Depp for his role as the Mad Hatter in the movie "Alice in Wonderland" due out on March 5th.

Some Changes

First of all, the newest comic is called "Magic", because magic is always the answer. Where did my pants go? The magic did it. Why is the oven hot? Magic. Why do orange flashes periodically burst forth from my eye sockets? You get the idea.

Also, there's a little change over at Triangle Dude Comics. What? Change? Yes, do not be frightened. The Bulletin board in the Menu which I ceased using like half a year ago has been replaced... by this! Yes, Blog Vorgus will now take the place of that awful Bulletin board because all the news I ever need to say is right here! And this is in no way a clever scheme to direct more traffic this-a-way... though that side effect is most welcome.

The Links page also kind of really probably should get an overhaul as well, so I'll get on that soon I suppose... Look for that to change as well!

Now... I am starting to get sick or something which sucks big time, especially since school just got back in. So it may take me an extra day or two or something to get around to making comics (look! News already!) so just hold your horses. :P

Down in Vancouver

Well I got a chance to go up to Vancouver last week... WOW! There's so many people! And it's only gotten busier since I was there. I got some pictures of stuff and they're up on my Flickr Stream, check it out!

The Vancouver Art Gallery is open... FOR FREE! Leonardo Da Vinci stuff is set up in there as well as a Giant Whale Skeleton made out of nothing but lawn chairs. There's also a section on stuff about British Columbia. The Gallery itself looks very eye catching.

The Olympic Flame! There it is. Pretty awesome, all bright and burny and such. The Canadian pride and Olympic spirit is in full force down in Vancouver!

Stuff That's Going On and Stuff

I'm on break! :D No school for two weeks, YES! I managed to clean my room, and by clean I mean totally gut the place and toss out a ton of junk. In the process I came across so many old doodles and drawings.

Included in this is a booklet of like a hundred Pokemon I made up with really terribly hilarious names - I was eleven okay. Also, I found a document I had written a long time ago legally copyrighting the word "swanky," people using this word without my consent are to be fined one candy.

In other Pokemon news I managed to beat the Elite Four and the Champion in Platinum with my Toxicroak, Torterra, Garchomp, Alakazam, Houndoom, and Gyarados.

I drafted my first official drawing for a shed which the city totally passed, allowing my client to get his permit and continue building the thing, WOO! That's exciting. It is, believe me.

Tactics David! Tactics David almost has all its rules fleshed out, and soon I'll be making the plethora of units and items that will populate this game. It's gonna be awesome.

Between work and school and the freakin' odd jobs and chores and things that have to be done TD is getting pushed down the priority pole.

BUT! Next week is the almighty, much anticipated, super relieving, and triangle dude producing week of Olympics! I mean... NO SCHOOL! No school because of the Olympics, thank you Olympics. :D

So what does this mean? It means I have no excuse not to do comics next week, and if all goes well I'll get some future ones created as well.

Hammer of War

Due to popular request, and a flurry of threats, I now have some Warhammer pictures to put up! Yes, it's been a while. Anyone not interested in my nerdy Saturday night adventures may peruse a different portion of this blog - my feelings will only be slightly hurt.

So we had a 2400 point battle with 7 people. A team of 3, Tau, Chaos, and Orc, vs a team of 4, Imperial Guard, Dark Eldar, Space Marine, and Tyranid.

It was a good battle, quite evenly matched I'd even say! I should note that a Chaos Deamon Prince is being represented by a Fantasy High Elf Dragon :P

So here's the battlefield at turn 1.

There's a good pile o' Lootas in there ruins, unfortunately 3 large blasts from a Griffin does a mess of trouble to anything like that... They actually didn't do a single thing the entire game except look slightly menacing, and absorb a rounds worth of impact.

Two of the 3 Griffins, and there's some "new" Tyranids. There's a TV Dude, I mean a Librarian in the ruins there.

Gingerbread om nom nom

So this might be a little late, but better late than never, or maybe better never than late if what's late is pain! But this involves no pain. I finally got some pictures up of the gingerbread house I made because I was thinking I did a good job on it and managed to get lots of sugar on it.

Alas, the house no longer looks like this because just the other day I finally finished putting it all into my mouth. Here it is pre om nom nom nomming.

I remember one year just stuffing as much icing sugar and candy right inside the dang thing. Surprisingly with all the other candy I got this Christmas just thinking about eating this thing was making me sick. But I have conquered it!

Tactics David

So what the heck is Tactics David? Well it just happens to be a game I made up way long ago when I was young and had plenty of time to do whatever.

The Original Tactics David was created in 2003, was only played once, and was ended abruptly as a quick movement of air sent little paper pieces all over. I still have all the pieces... Have a look...

There's the game box, a shoe box with some tape on it. Very fancy. And beside it is the mass amount of pieces that all play a part in this game. A grid board, terrain, cards for units, items, status's, playing pieces, reference sheets, and a rulebook (not seen are the few dice I own).

That's an army... each little cardboard square is a guy with his or her own strengths and special abilities...

There were some problems with this first version... one major thing. So many gosh darn pieces. Just look at all those little pieces. There's gotta be a couple hundred of them... I had lots of time in those days.

There have been a couple attempts made to try and fix the games flaws. A recent request for me to post the rules up here :D, has rekindled my hope for this game. I sat down and worked out a few major problems this game has and I think I'm going to make another iteration of this long and nearly forgotten game.

Eggplant!

So what did I go and do? I went and took a couple pictures so I could actually show you what "Eggplant" looks like, kind of.

Here's the amazing terrarium complete with Giant Stone Head from Squidward. I really want to make some more stuff to put in there. Something out of K'nex perhaps! I will make some sort of fort for more hanging fun. My Prickly Leaf Bug will be the happiest of them all.

Can you see where she is?! I'll give you a hint, she's right above the L and A, upside down.

There she is! She's so prickly and pointy. She can even cling to the completely flat slippery glass surface, I don't know how, it defies my logic as her feet are more like little claws for latching and such... That' her butt by the way, curving out in that leafy shape :P

Homeless People are Afoot

Mermaid's don't have feet. They also don't have Garbage. Well actually, that's not true, they have plenty of garbage thanks to us so nevermind.

Being homeless has got to be super dangerous. This one time, when I was taking out the garbage at work, I opened the cardboard-only dumpster, which had been left open, and I found a blanket and a t.v. in it. Hmm... I looked around, didn't see anyone, then just left it in there. It was too far to reach! I'm sorry cardboard recycling plant, but homeless people are afoot.

Prickly Leaf Bug

YEE! So my step sister got me one heck of a crazy Christmas present - and I love it.

My face was slightly surprised and nervous and fearful when I started to pull a terrarium out of it's wrappings...

To my surprise and delight and interest and curiosity... there was a Giant Prickly Leaf Bug inside!

These guys are pretty sweet beans. I got a female, her name is "Eggplant." "Eggplant!" I say, "How's it going?" And she sways back and forth and says, "Leave me alone!" Good times.

So they get up to 6 inches long! They like to sway back and forth if they feel any sort of breeze to try and look like a leaf, hence their name. They eat bramble leaves and I just have to spray the leaves with water everyday. Pretty kool!

I can't wait for Eggplant to grow up really big and EVOLVE INTO SOME MASSIVE INSECT! So I'm kind of into Pokemon right now - she won't literally evolve...

Islands is a pretty awesome band :D. Just learned they are actually Canadian too, very kool! They are founded by "The Unicorns" frontman Nick Thorburn.

Anyway, everyone know who Michael Cera is? I hope so. He's that kid from Juno, Arrested Development, and ya, ya you know the guy. Well Islands went and put him in one of their videos...

Haha, it's a trippy drug video of sorts and... the music's good too! No You Don't.

Zulu Records

Okay, so I must tell you about this store. It is called Zulu Records and it's located in Vancouver.

Wow. It has the largest selection of music, and stuff I actually like, then anywhere else I've ever been. Tons of indie stuff and punk and metal and basically everything you could ever want you will most likely find at this place. You can listen to anything you want before buying it I'm pretty sure, or just chill and listen to the tons of cd's already loaded into one of those boxes with headphones attached to it.

There's a huge selection of used cd's as well and a hole big $6 dollar blow out section. They also sell tickets to bands playing at local venues!

So what did I get? Well if I had more money I'd be buying stuff left and right and up and down and jumping around. I found, and I can't believe it almost, but I actually found "The Unicorns" album "Who Will cut our Hair When We're Gone?" And I also managed to find "The Flaming Lips" album "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots."

So Christmas was pretty wicked, I got stuff, and gave stuff, and have been overloaded with an insane amount of sugar.

I got Muramasa, and A boy and his Blob, and The New Super Mario Bros., and Scribblenauts, and Zelda Spirit Tracks. Wow, ya, I have my work cut out for me :D

Plus I'm still pushing along in Pokemon Platinum and got other games to beat, and art projects to do and oh boy. There's basically 2 real days of my holiday left before work kicks in and school starts again.

Why is it called a holiday when I really only had 4 days off? It's more like a long weekend. Whatever - that's life!

So, I can finally show you guys this because... It's after Christmas! And it is no longer a secret as I have given it away.

I spent a good deal of time working on this, pushing back any other projects, and really, there's nothing I would have rather done because this came out fabulously!

Basically, me and my friends play this game, okay you all know what it is, it's Warhammer. Anyway, whenever we play we can honestly say that the Dice Gods are on my friend's side. This picture, shows just that.

It's almost Christmas and I'm all done my Shopping! Whew. The malls are a crazy zoo of crazy people who are trampling their mall zoo keepers to death even.

Also, Santa is evil, at least this is a theory of mine. He's way cool and awesome and I hope I'm on his good list, but I'm sure he's hiding something... way up there in the frigid barren nothing land of snow and ice.

Anyone ever play Roller Coaster Tycoon? Of course you did - and I recently had an urge to play it. Now I have story for you which involves the before mentioned game. Aqua Park, yes Aqua Park... oh Aqua Park and your dang Water Slide that comes with the park when you start. Eventually this ride has a tendency to fail utterly resulting in a repeating incident where 2 people will die.

Whatever, my park was all like, super duper, and people dieing didn't matter much anymore - so I renamed the water slide "This ride did not kill 2 people" and lowered the price to 50 cents. No one was the wiser as they all began to think "Water Slide 1 is really good value" instead of the whole it's not safe thing. Well everytime people die now I get this message in the picture above :D

Snow Monster

I have fooled you. There is no Snow Monster... BUT, there is a "Tree Monster" and some more "Snow" up at Triangle Dude Comics.

School semester is almost out as well... AND I CAN'T WAIT! WOOT! I hope it snows so freakin' much and that I will be able to dig a tunnel through it to my friends house. There will be secret snow forts and snow wars and tunnels of adventure.

Well, there's two new comics one having something or other to do with "Robot Grades" and the other about "Winter".
